Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP)
This program furthers graduate-prepared nurses’ practice to provide care for, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions in primary care settings.

Overview
Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing offers the AGPCNP postgraduate certificate for graduate-prepared nurses interested in becoming an advanced practice nurse focusing on caring for adult patients.
The program builds upon a foundation in theory, research, ethics, and health policy to advance students’ understanding of clinical decision-making needed in advanced practice roles. Theory courses are taught online. Clinical experiences are conducted in clinics, primary care settings, and specialty care services.

Admission Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD) from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning
- Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all graduate coursework
- Official transcripts from all institutions where credit was earned
- Current curriculum vitae (CV) or resume
- Current unencumbered, unrestricted Missouri licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or a multi-state compact license and in good standing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) provider status
- Two letters of reference from individuals who can address the applicant's academic and clinical potential
- A personal statement that addresses desired area of specialization, personal attributes that will contribute to successful accomplishments of the program, and career goals
Curriculum
Students seeking to transfer credit or who currently hold a different APRN certification will submit course syllabi for a gap analysis to determine necessary coursework.
All clinical compliance requirements and documentation are needed for clinical courses.

*Transfer Credit and Gap Analysis: Students seeking transfer credit or who currently hold a different APRN certification should submit course syllabi to conduct a gap analysis to ensure all content is covered without repetition of content from prior coursework. Completion of graduate physiology is required if taking NURS 6004 Advanced Pathophysiology at Goldfarb School of Nursing.
